Borough Green occurs as big village placed on the A25 road between Maidstone and Sevenoaks in Kent. Its title belies what it originally was - a green to which a humans of the so borough of Wrotham went for recreation.
Its location at a carrefour (the old route from either Gravesend to Hastings crossed here) intended that lodge were step by step opened:

A London, Chatham and Dover Railway opened its line to Maidstone on One June 1874, & a station of Wrotham & Borough Green was built. Late a list were reversed to Borough Green & Wrotham reflect the fact that the station was in Borough Green; Wrotham is some mile to the north: it also points up the fact of the reversal in village size.
Groovy Comp, an early 17th century home, is in the parish. Its gardens, administered by the charitable trust, come open to the public.
